12 months!

Drew is 12 months old! I can't believe that a year has really gone by! He has changed so much from the wrinkly little guy we met a year ago. He has started really walking now. He's been kinda walking since 10 and a half months but now he can really make it far! He's so excited about it it's been hard for him to go to sleep because he just wants to practice his new skill! Teething has been in full force this month also..he now has his front 8 teeth! He is non stop still..when we go to the park I just follow him around. He never stays in one place for long. His personality is really blooming too. One of the cutest things he is doing is copying us. We wave and he waves...we make a motion for pewy (when he has a stinky diaper) and he does to. Drew recently started folding his arms for a prayer! It's so cute because he know we have to pray before he can eat and so when I put him in his chair he sometimes folds his arms like c'mon let's pray so I can eat already! lol He understands so much. He has definitely got an opinion! Drew knows what he wants and knows how to get his point across! He understands no and listens to no most of the time. He walks up to dad's stereo that he's not supposed to touch and shakes his head no at it! Such a funny guy. I can't believe his one year photo project is complete! Wow! It has been a fun year and a challenging year but it feels so good to have made it this far and have a happy healthy baby that is thriving. I feel so blessed!

Water baby

Jared's sister is in town and so we got together at his parents house and swam with the cousins!   I got an underwater camera case a while ago and haven't had a chance to use it till now! It was so fun to have my camera in the water! 

 Drew was so brave and really loved the water!

We also had a fun beach day. It was overcast but warm. Drew, Landon and Claire are pretty close in age and it was fun seeing them interact. We tried to have them share a bucket of water but it ended in poor Drew getting slapped my Claire and then Landon started screaming and scared him. It's tough being the youngest cousin sometimes. lol After that everyone got their own bucket which worked out much better! 

 Drew was a messy sand monster! Eating the sand..dumping water on himself...drinking the sand from a bucket!

Drew's been giving kisses to babies and dad for a while but just recently started giving me kisses too! They are slobbery but sweet! He's such a funny little guy!

11 months old!

Drew is 22pounds 9 ounces and 30.5 inches long!

I can't believe there is only one more photo! This year has really gone by fast. Drew has changed so much in 11 months. He is now walking back and forth from Jared and I and we can spread out pretty far and he can still make it. He has a lot more control when he walks too. He can take a few steps and then pause and stand and then take a few more steps. He has started letting go of furniture and taking a few steps to something else on his own. He has become a good climber and can almost climb onto the couch. He goes up stairs, over boxes and big toys, over Jared's face and up big steps at the park. He also learned how to down down stairs safely. Drew turns himself around and goes down on his belly now. Crawling is still his major form of transportation and he is really fast at it! I think any day now he might just take off walking though! Drew loves to get into things also. He opens any cabinet he can get into and pulls out all the pans he cruises along everything and gets on his tiptoes to reach things on the table and pull them down. I have to be really careful what I leave on the tables and counter tops now. Drew started dancing to music! It's so cute to see him bob up and down to music. He likes anything with a beat!

He now waves bye and hi pretty consistently and really loves other babies at the park. He goes right up to them and makes his cheesy smile and makes noises at them. When we go to the park he just crawls right off and doesn't even look back! It makes me a little sad that he doesn't need me but I think it's good that he is really independent. Some days he is a little chatter box babbling all day long and other days he's more quiet and just seems to be taking things in. It's fun though because he seems to understand what I say to him and responds with sounds and gestures. He reaches up to be picked up and squirms when he wants down. At such a young age he is already a little comedian just like Jared! He makes funny faces and noises to get laughs. He shakes his head noooo and makes a silly face to be funny as well. Lately he started taking turns with me and following two step directions "go get the ball...bring it to mommy" He claps for himself and signs "more" when he wants more food. Drew says momma and mom a lot. He says ba for ball sometimes too. Drew is a little sweetie..he loves pictures of babies and real babies. He gives kisses to babies, mom, dad and nana. One of the cutest things he does is hug Jared for a long time when he gets home. I think he really misses him when he's gone. It's so fun seeing his little personaty come out more and I can't wait to see whats next!

Easter

Pure victory!

We had an awesome Easter this year. We went to church and then went to Jared's parents house for a yummy Easter dinner. Drew had his first Easter egg hunt! I was pretty hilarious because he seemed to care more about the leafs on the grass than the eggs but it was still cute. He made a his crazy face when he picked up some of the eggs. He's such a little character already!

We love to see the Temple

We had a great time at the Temple with our friends Sara and Ryan. It was so peaceful and the boys seemed to have fun. It's so nice to live close enough to go and have a picnic on Temple grounds.

First time walking!

Drew has been taking steps when I let him go but today when we were at the park he was standing holding on to a railing and just let go himself and started walking! He took like 5 steps before he fell. I was so surprised and he seemed really happy! I wish I could have gotten a video of it but it happened so fast.

This is a video from earlier today when we were just practicing at home. He just keeps getting more and more steady on his feet.
