Pay back for not having morning sickness

I got a bad sore throat and was out of commision for over a week! It was totally lame but thankfully I'm finally feeling better. I'm ready to leave Febuary behind and welcome spring and sunshine! I'm feeling optimistic about the rest of this prenancy and I can't believe I'm only about 11-13 more weeks away from meeting my little buddy. Third trimester here we go..I hope the 29th week is a lot nicer than the 28th!

The Baby is moving!

Now that I'm past 26 weeks the baby's kicks and moves have been getting much more noticable. Before it felt like little taps but now sometimes when I look down at my stomach I can see it moving. The other morning I woke up because it felt like the baby was totally spazing out! It was kicking and punching and wiggling all at once. It's such a cool experience and I already feel so bonded to the little guy.

24 weeks at Paradise Cove

You can't beat 75 at the beach at the end of January! We are pretty lucky.

Our little guy!

The 3D ultrasound was insane! It was so cool to see him in there. I love his little foot. The doctor said he was 50% for overall size and weight..his head was 50% and his legs were 75% for length. I guess he'll be long legged just like his momma!

Guessing game!

At our 20 week ultra sound we found out we are having a boy! I was totally shocked but so excited! I wanted to tell our families in a cute way so before the ultrasound I made pink cakes and blue cakes since I didn't know which ones we were going to need and we had our moms cut the cakes to find our the gender. It was so fun and everyone was really excited. It was so crazy finding out the gender and seeing our baby. It definitely made it feel a lot more real.

Sky High and a little more than 20 weeks

We went to sky high over Christmas break with Jared's fam. It was so fun bouncing around but I think I went to the bathroom like 4 times in an hour!

About 20 weeks on Christmas Day:)

I got this shirt for Chirstmas and it didn't fit me for very long.

17 1/2 weeks/ 4 months!

15 weeks at Thanksgiving

It was perfect timing for thanksgiving because everything had already stopped smelling weird and I had a big appetite!

8 weeks at the beach!

I was about 8 weeks in this pic. I've been walking as much as possible and even swimming when it's not too cold. Walking just seems like it loosens everything up.

Pretty lucky so far...

In my first trimester I didn't have morning sickness luckly. I drank tons of water and always had snacks at work. I remember thinking I was really pregnant when I was laying on the couch one day and I had just eaten chips and salsa and the smell of the salsa was so strong that I had to move the salsa to the kitchen! That's how I was for the first little bit. Everything smelled so strong and certain things looked and smelled so gross. I bought a bag of walnuts that I normally would love but for the first few months I couln't even look at the bag. Cutting onions or strong smelling foods totally grossed me out too.

I did have a few cravings at the beginning. I craved fast food like taco bell which is totally out of the norm for me so I asked my midwife what I should do since I knew fast food was not a good choice and she said I was probably craving the sodium from fast food so instead I should eat pickles and salty crackers! That night I ate a jar of pickles and saltine crackers and it was amazing how great I felt after. My body just needed salt. I also craved orange juice a few times. My midwife says to just listen to my body and try to eat a rainbow of colors in my food so that's what I've been doing and I've been feeling really good. At first I had all these ideas of things I needed to eat every day and so I would try to make myself eat certain things but it was way better after I just started eating what I wanted but making sure it was a variety.

Telling the fam!

I wanted to tell both our moms in a cute way but Jared thought it was lame so I just told my mom how I wanted and we told his mom how he wanted. I know it was a little early to tell people but I found out that I am terrible at keeping secrets! I was dying to tell anyone I talked to so waiting till I was about 8 weeks seemed like an eternity. We took my mom out to dinner and before she got there I gave a cake to the waitress and told her to bring it out first before we ordered. The cake said "bun in the oven" and I'll never forget my moms face...first she was confused and said she was thinking who's birthday is it? Then when she realized what it said she totally freaked out and we both cryed. Even Jared got teary eyed but we will not tell him that. It was fun telling everyone and everyone so was excited.

This picture was when I was about 2 weeks pregnant. My Friend Stacey and I wanted to be awesome surf chicks. We aren't yet and so we just got totally pummeled! lol Jared was watching us and said that I tried to paddle into the wave to late every time and so I would just nose dive over and over again! We had fun laughing at ourselves though so it was worth it! I guess I'll have to practice more after I have the baby.

I'm pregnant!

We had talked about trying to start a family when Jared finished school and so the summer after he graduated from his credential program we thought we should go for it. We had no idea that it would happen quite so fast though. After the first month of not using birth control I remember telling Jared I think you should come look at this! The pregnancy test I took was a first response one and it had a very faint second line. I couldn't believe my eyes and neither could Jared. I went into the doctor to be tested and he said that it was negative so I figured that must be right but after another week i took another home test and yet again it was positive! So the moral of the story is that I found out that the first response tests are more accurate than the doctors pee test! At least in this case!
